Pharmacy Early Assurance Program
The Valencia to UF – Pharmacy Early Assurance Program allows Valencia students an opportunity to streamline their path into pharmacy school. Those students completing the program will receive a guaranteed interview into UF's Pharm.D. program.
Program Overview
The Gator Pharmacy Early Assurance Program (PEAP) provides Valencia students with an opportunity to streamline their path into pharmacy school. This program is designed to assist students through the early process of becoming a pharmacist by providing workshops, training and opportunities related to pharmacy careers. Participants in this 1-3 year program will need to do the following:
- Complete all of the pre-professional coursework required for entry in UF’s Pharm.D. program, including General Biology I (BSC 1010C) and General Chemistry I (CHM 1045C)
- Become active members in the Pre Health Society
- Gain pharmacy experience through shadowing interning and/or employment in a pharmacy setting.
The program is open to current Valencia students with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of their application submission and have ate least one year remaining in their undergraduate studies. Applicants must apply to the UF College of Pharmacy within three years.
Application Guidance Participants will attend PEAP exclusive workshops and advising sessions to assist them in submitting a competitive PharmCAS application.
Guaranteed Interview Students completing the program with a 3.0 or above science GPA will be guaranteed an interview for the UF College of Pharmacy’s Pharm.D. program.
Campus Preference Students can choose their preferred campus for the Pharm.D. program between Gainesville, Jacksonville and Orlando.
Mentoring A current UF Pharm.D. student ambassador will provide mentoring throughout the program.
Special Invitations Students will receive invitations to special events and informational sessions to help them prepare for pharmacy school.
