Why did you choose the UF College of Pharmacy in Jacksonville?

I chose the UF College of Pharmacy in Jacksonville not only because it’s my hometown, but also because the campus offers a unique and enriching experience. Its close-knit environment fosters genuine connections — with classmates, upperclassmen and faculty alike. As the smallest of the UF pharmacy campuses, Jacksonville provides a strong sense of community along with ample leadership opportunities. I knew it was a place where I could grow both professionally and personally.

How does UF College of Pharmacy prepare you to be a healthcare leader?

The UF College of Pharmacy cultivates leadership by offering a wide range of opportunities to step into meaningful roles—whether through student organizations or committees. These experiences are paired with intentional training in key professional skills such as communication, collaboration and decision-making. From day one, UF emphasizes the importance of leadership in healthcare and encourages students to become advocates, innovators and role models in the pharmacy profession. The supportive environment and mentorship from faculty also empower students to develop the confidence and vision required to lead effectively.

What’s one professional accomplishment you’re most proud of as a pharmacy student?

One of my proudest accomplishments as a pharmacy student was delivering my first presentation at our Student Organization Annual Retreat. I had the opportunity to collaborate with our campus chapter of ACCP, as well as chapters from other UF campuses, to create a dynamic presentation that highlighted each chapter’s initiatives and contributions. It was a meaningful experience where we not only showcased our work but also exchanged ideas and identified new possibilities for growth and innovation across our organizations. Being part of that collaboration reinforced my passion for leadership and opened doors for deeper involvement in the pharmacy community.

What motivates you to keep going when things get hard in pharmacy school?

My passion for pharmacy keeps me grounded during challenging times, reminding me why I chose this path in the first place. I’m also incredibly inspired by the pharmacy technicians and pharmacists I work alongside — they embody the kind of professional I aspire to be. Their encouragement and example give me energy and clarity when I’m feeling overwhelmed. Having that kind of support system makes all the difference; it not only motivates me but also reminds me that I’m not alone in this journey.
