What makes the culture at the Orlando campus unique?
We clap in Orlando for our peers on the microphone. Always. I don’t know how it started, but that is how we show support, and it is very nice to know that your fellow students have your back. Everyone in Orlando wants to help each other, and there is a great sense of community, especially when you are struggling.
What would you tell someone who is considering pharmacy school at UF?
UF for both my undergraduate and graduate school has been the best value you can get for an education in Florida. If you are a resident, you are especially lucky to pay in-state tuition. I would make the same choice every time because of the teachers, the people and the research that UF has, which makes the possibilities endless.
How does a pharmacy degree from UF open doors to many different career options?
I would happily talk to anyone who is interested in learning more about a Pharm.D. program. If you look at industry alone, there are literally hundreds of careers you have probably never even heard or thought of that the program can prepare you for.
How have you grown personally since beginning this program?
It’s hard for me to gauge how much I’ve changed, but I have done so much in the past year that I know I’ve become a better leader and someone who is more confident. I also started bouldering this year, which is a really great way for me to relieve stress, and the physical activity has benefited me a lot inside and outside of the classroom.
