What is the campus atmosphere like in Orlando?

The Orlando campus atmosphere is truly a Pharmily. My favorite thing about the Orlando campus is that I can literally turn to anyone and just have a conversation with them, like we are old friends just catching up. It is the most supportive and encouraging environment to be a part of, and I am so grateful for that because it has allowed me to come out of my shell and grow in ways I never could have imagined.

What evidence have you seen that supports the high-quality pharmacy education you are receiving at UF?

I see the most evidence that UF is providing me with a high-quality pharmacy education when I am out on my rotations. My preceptors have always commented on and been impressed with the level of knowledge I come in with compared to students from other colleges. Given that I did not have any pharmacy experience prior to starting at UF, these interactions on rotations just show how much the curriculum is going above and beyond in preparing me for a career in pharmacy.

How accessible are faculty for students who need extra support or guidance?

The faculty are readily accessible for students, which is extremely appreciated for the distant campuses, since most professors are in Gainesville. All the professors are really responsive with discussion boards, emails and providing office hours whenever more guidance on a topic is needed. The faculty also do an amazing job in giving students well-rounded support mentally and emotionally, which is something that is necessary in a stressful graduate program.

How have you built community with your classmates?

I am very lucky to have my classmates because we all want to connect and get to know each other, which makes building that Pharmily community easy. We plan a lot of class events outside of anything related to school, which helps to build our camaraderie. My favorite events are the big dinners with everyone after tough exams, the birthday celebrations and the beach days.
